| From Routes 1 & 9 Southbound: 1. Take Routes 1 & 9 South past Newark Airport into Elizabeth. 2. In downtown Elizabeth, Routes 1 & 9 descend a ramp and become a level roadway. Do not use this ramp, but instead use the far right lane which descends below ground level. 3. Take this road to the end (approximately 1 block) then turn right onto Elizabeth Ave. Court House is straight ahead, at the junction of Elizabeth Ave. and Broad St. From Routes 1 & 9 Northbound: 1. Take Routes 1 & 9 North to Bayway Traffic Circle. Turn right onto Bayway Ave. (Route 439, exit for Goethals Bridge). 2. From Bayway Ave., turn left onto S. Broad St. (2 blocks from the circle). Court House is approximately 1 mile down on the left, at the corner of Broad St. and Rahway Ave. From N.J. Turnpike: 1. Use Exit 13 and follow the signs for Route 439 (Bayway Ave.). 2. From Bayway Ave., turn right onto S. Broad St. (approximately ½ mile from the Turnpike). Court House is approximately 1 mile down on the left, at the corner of Broad St. and Rahway Ave. From Garden State Parkway: 1. Take Exit 140A. Route 82, Elizabeth. Route 82 is also called Morris Ave. 2. Take Morris Ave. to the end. Turn left onto Julian Pl., then turn right after 1 short block onto Broad St. Court House is 4 blocks down on the right, at the corner of Broad St. and Rahway Ave. From Route 22: 1. Take exit for Route 82, Elizabeth. Route 82 is also called Morris Ave. 2. Take Morris Ave. to the end. Bear right under the railroad bridge where Morris Ave. merges onto Broad St. Court House is 4 blocks down on the right, at the corner of Broad St. and Rahway Ave. PARKING Metered street parking is scarce in the area. The nearest public lot is at the corner of Dickinson St. and Jefferson Ave. There are also several lots in the vicinity of the train station, the closest being along W. Jersey St. |
